Changing Caravan Trading Values?
« on: September 19, 2011, 10:22:55 am »

While we're waiting for a more fleshed out world economy, I was wondering what is currently possible with editing the raws regarding item value.

Are all item values hardcoded and unalterable, or would it be possible to change the valuation of items at the ENTITY level?  Say, make dwarves only give stone/metal items 50% of the value, elves only value cloth + leather 50%, humans only give leather + wood 50% value etc.  That way races pay less for items made from materials they have in abundance and are already good at working with.  Just thinking of a way to make trading less easy, in a way that kinda makes sense, but not even sure if it's possible, before trying to figure out how to attempt it.

Material values are not hardcoded, but they are universal.

Item values are hardcoded.

Ah alright, so I could make things made from Bauxite cost twice as much across the board, but not on a per-race basis.  And I couldn't make, say, doors half as expensive in general, just alter the price of differenet materials that I could then make doors out of.  Thanks!
