I'm pretty addicted to the game Starcraft, and wanting to host a Mafia, I thought Starcraft would be an interesting thing to base a Mafia off of.
Basic rules, shamelssly ripped from the BM.
Rules and Guidelines
•Always play to win.
•You may not PM other players other than the mod. The mafia will have a place to talk to themselves.
•Never edit your posts, even to fix typos! If you make a mistake, just double post- it's permitted here. Violation of this rule can lead to deadly repercussions. I recommend using the preview button every time you post.
•Never quote your role PM or any other PM sent to you by the mod.
•If you need more time to discuss, you may ask for an extension. If more players ask for one than those who decline one, the day will be extended by 48 hours.
◦There are no limit to the number of extensions allowed per day.
Game-specific rules:
The three races each are different alignment types:
Player ratio and inspect results:
Terran is town. There are 10 or 11 terrans.
Zerg is mafia, there are 3 of them.
There will be one or two protoss players, who'll be third parties, one-two off of this list:
Serial Killer
Survivor
Lyncher (Target randomly rolled)
Assassin (Target randomly rolled)
Jester
Martyr
(Randomly-rolled) Ally
(Randomly-rolled player's) Brother
or Watcher.
All third-party inspect results will come up as "protoss," town as "terran", and mafia as "Zerg."
When you get your role, you'll be randomly rolled in as a unit (or possibly building), and you get abilities based upon your unit or building. You'll be rolled as BW or SC2 if you're a unit that has appeared in both games.
Different units are different tiers, their in-game tiers. For example, the marine is T1, and the Ultralisk is T3.
This comes in important with the mafia's tier system- each day, the tier increases. For example, at day 1, the tier level is T1. At D2, T2. At D3, T3. Tier 1 units have their abilities available from Day 1, although they're not as strong as T2 or T3. Tier 2 and Tier 3 units get their respective abilities availble for use when their Tiers get reached. For example, a Tier3PlaceholderUnit couldn't kill until Day 3, but would have the strongest kill ability.
Units will also get possible upgrades, which add abilities or change things up passively. They have a half chance to be upgraded on the Tier they are available at in-game, and the other half chance is for the next day (Although certain roles can change the chances)
Finally, the order of actions in game is based upon the movement speed of the actioner, and ties will be broken with atack speed. In the case of an equal attack speed, a die will be rolled.
For example, say there is a marine, a marauder, and a reaver.
The marine and marauder have the same move speed, but since the marine fires quicker, he goes first, the marauder goes second, and the slow reaver goes last.
