"Hello and welcome to GNN for the 14^the edition of the Annual Free World Racing Championship. After 3 years we're back at the European circuit and it seems like the Circuit has been completly rebuilt. What do you think Bob?"
"I concur John. I'm pleased to announce that numerous security improvements have been made. The dam has been completly reinforced and is now protected by a military grade forcefield. OMNI-tech, world leader in high-tech hard and software, and AFWRC's main sponsor, ensures us that it could survive anything but a direct nuclear strike."
"You heard it here first folks. This edition of the AFWRC might be the safest one yet. Let us take a look at the track, shall we?"

" Ok Bob. This time the contestants start near the Johnson Memorial Lake. They drive along the lakeside unless they reach the Dam."
"Seems to me that a boat could easily gain the lead by faring right across the lake, don't you think so John."
"Yes, but the other contestants will probably catch up at the dam."
"Yeah, you're right. That's a pretty big drop there."
"Yes, but for those that don't want to take the risk there's always the elevator, though it'll take them a day to get down. Down below they'll have to pass the checkpoint and than continue down the river until they reach the  Whiteforest bridge. The bridge is broken however and is stuck in a halfraised position. Omnicorp has provided a ferry but drivers can try to test their luck and jump across the gap. Then...

"Hello and Welcome back to the exclusive GNN  news report of the 14^the Annual Free World Racing Championship. I'm Bob Johnson and next to me sits John Robertson, GNN presentator and AFWRC veteran. So John, can you tell us some more about this years track."
Well, after the contestants have passed the Whiteforest bridge they reach the gigantic Sontbrug, which connects Denmark and Sweden. It's a long straight line so speed 'll be the key to succes on this piece of the track. After the Sontburg comes another checkpoint, where the contenders get a day rest to resupply and repair their vehicles.
Sorry John, but we've just got an important news flash.

The map is 120  tiles long. Players can travel up to 12 squares a day(turn) in optimal circumstances. For scenery description, look at the plot.

The Game is divided into 2 stages: a building stage and a Racing stage: There will be several building turns during which you'll build your vehicle. There are 3 rolls during each building turn. The rolls determine how succesfull you are at building that part. You can use any roll for any other purpose( except sabotage, which may only be done in the special turn).

1. Chape: Type: (Plane, vehicle, boat),Propulsion, fuel type
2. Cargo rooms: Cargo rooms, crew quarters, fueltanks
3. Weaponry: Weapon, Weapon, weapon
4. Defense: armor, autorepairkits, dodging stuff
5. Supplies: food, ammunition, crew
6. Special: Any special stuff: money, secret super weapon, favours from outside, sabotage
7. Redo: Reroll any roll you didn't like

There are only 2 rolls during each race turn, these can be:
-Firing weapons
-Making emergency repairs
-Searching for supplies
-Racing(only one of these allowed per turn)

Special objects on the racing track:
-Checkpoint: Stopping here is obligatory. Requires one action to clear
-Checkpoint with repair/maintenance stand: You need to wait here one turn. That turn counts as a building turn(Mid race modifications YAY)
-Shoppe: Stopping here is not obligatory, but this place sells interesting stuff. And supplies. Buying counts as an action.
-Shortcut: Shortens travel time. Gathering food and supplies not allowed during shortcuts. Weapons can only be used on people using the same shortcut.
-Obstacle: Requires one turn OR a roll to pass(this is not one of your two daily actions). Bad rolls will result in damage.

Speed: How fast you go. Distance travelled by racing action = Speed + d6
Fuel type: Determinces price and abudance during gathering
Maneuvering: How good you are at dodging things
Armor: Duh
Fuel tanks: Stores fuel, 1 fuel consumed per racing action. Varies between 5-10
Cargo area: Used to store rations and ammo
Crew quarters: Amount of crew you can have. Crew fires weapons, does repairs and influences searching rolls.

Note: Every type of vehicle will have it's own advantages and disadvantages.
Planes can go where they want to go but suffer more from weather, cars can have problems with roadblocks and other obstacles and boats can only use waterways. Also note that some shortcuts might only be usable by a certain type of vehicle.

Reason: Tyrin was always interested in technology. It's many advances and paths. Still, this is the future. Many things have gone awry in his life, and he wants to fix it up. Perhaps from the winnings of this race?

First turn:

The Valkyrie was constructed to be a hybrid transport. A transport that could shift between the form of a Plane and the form of a Land Walker (Think Humanoid Machine). Several solar panels are embedded on where the wings would be (four wings to be exact, two on each side and parallel to each other vertically). As solar power has been deigned unreliable at night, it has a back-up generator that runs on Hydrogen in the air and the precise octane bonds in Gasoline; in short: It runs on both gasoline and air-- air being a last reserve backup if anything fails.

Due to this, it may be weaker in propulsion or other engine-related problems due to the kind of fuel it runs on and it's ability to shift.

Reason: Connor had a dream he did! A wonderful, beautiful dream! But that's not important! What's important is that in that dream he saw an awesome vehicle of awesome, and he knew he had to make it and race it! KNEW IT! Problem was, it was armed, which immediately put him in this death-race. Oh well.
His dream may or may not be the result of telepathy, alien tinkering or magical faries that are bored.

Reason: This world has gone for far too long without a suitable dictatorship to stir it's reins! But, barging there headfirst would be silly. So, I can use this race to test out my primary method of achieving world domination! They called me mad, they did! But I'll show them... Wait, I am mad. Well, I'll show them HOW mad I am! MUAHAHAHA!
Name vehicle: WorldConq Mk.1;
First turn: the bulk of the vehicle contains a reinforced nuclear reactor which is responsible for the machine's propagation. In front of it is a heavily armored pilot's cabin, which contains the controls and a pair of giant extendable pincers, usable as a weapon. From the side of the reactor extend two robotic arms with reinforced titanium plates at the end, which are used to defend against enemies. Above the cabin a flamethrower is mounted. The armament is topped with an untested rocket launcher, to cover my back. In general, the design relies on brute force to vanquish the enemies and fast speed provided by the reactor. And hopes that a stray shot won't blow it up to hell.

Reason:  Toaster enjoys speed, money, women, and booze.  Since this race will cover two of the four, it's got his attention- and surely it'll impress the ladies, right?
Vehicle Name:  Darkling Shadow
First Turn:  The Darkling Shadow is a hovercraft propelled by a massive turboprop engine fed with jet fuel.  The hover system runs on an electric battery, hooked by alternator to the turboprop.

It's fairly oval-shaped, with a pointed nose cone and a wider rear to support the engine mount (which is on a higher plane than the rest of the craft).
